Pavel Caha: Introduction to Syntax

The course introduces and explains the basic tools and ingredients of a syntactic theory, focussing on core areas such as phrase structure, movement and binding. As we explore these areas, we shall also briefly touch upon the structure of words and the relationship between syntax and morphology. The
course presupposes zero prior knowledge of syntax, but one needs to know the basic linguistic terminology, i.e., notions like noun, verb, determiner, pronoun, etc.
