Bošković: Distributed coordinations

The class will discuss, from a crosslinguistic perspective (including Slavic), distributed coordination constructions like which book and which magazine did Sue buy and Jon read respectively, which appear to involve separate movements of different elements out of conjuncts, which theoretically should not be allowed. Such constructions have consequences for a number of mechanisms, like locality of movement, subject-oriented anaphors, and the theory of agreement, which will be discussed in the class.
