We said we pretend Corona does not exist while organizing the Novi Sad EGG, but we can’t do that forever. Here is what we plan to do:

1. evaluate the situation (travel, dorm, sanitary regulations) by the end of May.
2. if the school is still standing against all odds then, do registration in June.
3. In order to get an idea of how you students feel about the situation and whether you plan to register & attend, we may ask for your feedback during the last week of May.

For the time being we pretend there is no Corona anywhere, everybody will be able to come to Novi Sad and the dorms will be working. We may be wrong of course, but only time will tell. What is for sure is that if we don’t get prepared now there will be no school even if the world is Corona-clean in August. So stay tuned…

Marijn van ‘t Veer from U Amsterdam and Chris Golston from California State U at Fresno will be on the phonology team.

Exciting news! Here is our first round of teachers for EGG 2020 in Novi Sad. This is the syntax team, which will consist of: András Bárány, Theresa Biberauer, Zorica Puškar-Gallien and Adrian Stegovec. Welcome on board, guys! Stay tuned for information about our other teachers in the coming days and weeks.

EGG is waking up from hibernation… This year the school will be held in the lovely city of Novi Sad / Serbia. We move a week forth wrt the traditional schedule (in order not to overlap with the CreteLing), thus going from August 3rd to August 14th. Keep an eye on the blog, the FAQ for Novi Sad (practical information) is coming soon, and also teachers and classes will be coming in.

1. We’ll have a very short EGG closing ceremony right after classes tomorrow at 5.15pm in the Syntax Room!

2. There will be a final closing party right outside the dorm, starting at 8pm tomorrow evening with beer and pizza!!

Dear EGGers, the karaoke night starts at 8 pm on Wednesday in Fuga Mundi pub (Pl. Grunwaldzki 12-14), which is a 10 min walk from the dorm. To have the whole place for us, we had to pay the club, so when you arrive, find me, Sandhya or Tom to chip in 20 zloty. See ya all there!

From tomorrow onwards (Tuesday, 6th August), the Phonology classes and Emily Hanink’s Internally headed relatives and clausal nominalization will take place in room 307 instead of 215.
